A Test Shoot in Baja

March 13, 2017

With some models there is a greater connection than with others.  It is, after all, a process of interaction between humans.  When I find someone where we “click” creatively, I like to work with them several times.  The more we work together, the more we slip into deeper creative spaces.  However, you can’t always work with the same people. This year I put out a casting call for models in Baja.

Ivonne answered my call and was enthusiastic to participate.  However she had no experience.  I am used to working with inexperienced models, and if there is joint interest in working together extensively, I sometimes do a “test shoot”.  The test shoot involves relatively simple modeling to see if there is chemistry and alignment, and to introduce the model to my way of working.

We shot around La Poza in Todos Santos.  While the session went well, Ivonne decided afterwards  (after finally viewing my website) that she did not want to do more.  The moral of the story – when asking for a test session, PLEASE do check my website to see if the style resonates with you.  If it doesn’t, there’s no point in “testing”.  I asked, but unfortunately that step was skipped….

Nevertheless, the session, while not progressing my path to art, did produce some pretty images.  Here are a few of my favorites…
